Europride is a touchy subject for me lately. And I know every gay in sight will turn away from me after I say this, but I can’t agree to something I don’t believe in. And the truth is, I don’t believe in gay parades. Yes, every parade is fun and exciting, but organizing one to gain rights is just stupid. I talked to some of my friends who participated, and their opinions varied from mine, obviously, but I found a lot of people who shared them, too.

I just don’t see how parading naked to loud house music is going to change anybody’s views on gay people, especially in such a conservative country as Poland… And there’s this huge fear of mine that most people will see gays on the streets and think: “Well, this is how all the gays are. Semi naked party animals. What kind of rights they deserve anyway?”

Not too mention, we’re not gaining anybody’s trust that way. Most gays I spoke to about the parade said that it was thrown simply to “put us on the map”. To which I say: you’re a moron.
