Tommy Ca by Paramodel - “In this artwork “tommy ca,” Paramodel combined a toy truck called “tomica” and a model of Chinese food. “Tomica” is a famous toy car series produced by the Japanese toy company named “Tomy.”. Paramodel picked up a truck for this artwork among this toy car series. Truck is a vehicle which moves any immovable object loading on its back and its platform accepts any object. The Chinese food in this artwork is a food sample and not a toy. It is made of plastic and usually displayed in a restaurant’s show window to show their menus. Since Chinese food is called “chu-ca 中華” in Japanese, Paramodel take the sound “ca” and put it in the title. Both the truck and the Chinese food are designed in details as a typical Japanese product.”
